Left overs: Comfort needed after a shock, Roast chicken dinner in a pie.

Today I needed comfort food for a reason.

A good pie can right all wrongs
What a day!

I took the small dog to the park and when we were walking home a delivery van deliberately mounted the kerb at speed in his hurry to make a delivery, missing me by about 18 inches head on!

Obviously being deaf I had no idea it was there until it was adjacent to me as I was looking at the dog at that moment.

The reason I have lost my hearing is due to having been hit by a car aged 15 and the resulting serious head injury.  I am therefore rather anxious and watchful crossing roads but didn't expect that to happen on the footpath.

So today's plans for home made pasta was abandoned for my favourite thing, nothing elaborate, just home made shortcrust pastry topping roast chicken dinner that was frozen.

There were lovely slices of chicken, green beans and cabbage in one freezer tray and the home made gravy in another.  All I added was a handful of dry stuffing mix and the pastry.

Totally yummy and healing for my jangled nerves!
