I always take the time to have a proper cooked breakfast as regular readers will know.
Was beautifully creamy pillows of poached eggs on slices of Himself's toasted wholemeal bread. Simple but so tasty.
I realise that mornings are chaotic for those with young families and therefore breakfast is a grab it on the go affair. Indeed, I've had days like that myself when commuting to London to work having left my first born with her childminder. Sometimes I was so busy that by lunchtime I would suddenly remember that I hadn't eaten since around 7pm the night before. Not a healthy attitude.
As my three children were growing up we made 'sit down and eat your breakfast' a rule, not without the occasional protest I can tell you. I used this time to gather my thoughts whilst we all ate something and I enjoyed my ritualistic cuppa.
These days I enjoy a much simpler life, sure the money isn't a smidgen of my former earnings but I'm happy, not flustered and feel so much better for it. I still enjoy my breakfast musings over what I'm planning to do for the day, particularly what I'm going to prepare to eat and I still have my cup of tea beside my elbow.
Do you make time for breakfast? How do you cope with a busy schedule and eating properly?
